Huarte Restaurant

November 16, 2019

In the northern city of Spain, Pamplona, the architect and designer Santos Bregañas provided for the interior of Huarte Restaurant.

With the intention of generating a "poetic functionality", Santos Bregañas creates nostalgic projects that are meaningful to inspire culinary encounters.

Looking at nature, Santos is committed to telling stories that describe how food is able to create ritualistic and anthropological environments.

"We want restaurant customers to feel surrounded by a sense of harmony - here things have meaning, even if they cannot be expressed in words." - Santos Bregañas
Combining imagination and functionality, for him, storytelling and interior design must be feasible in practice.

Articulating around the marine theme, many elements of the restaurant preserve a myriad of stories - according to the designer, each official story hides a secret one - and at the same time has their own functionality. Huarte has a selection of pieces from the USM Haller modular system that take center stage.

The brand's timeless symbol, the shelf contains cutlery, table textiles and glassware, including two removable trolleys and elegantly separating the restaurant from the more informal waiting area: “for me, USM is a Gold Standard that always brings positive results. There is something in its structure and its finishes that customers fall in love with."
