Organised by Hong Kong Comasia Limited, the MEGA SHOW Bangkok edition concluded successfully with a remarkable growth in the exhibition scope, highlighting the new meeting between consumer demand and market supply.

In recent years, the purchasing power and living standards of citizens have steadily improved, resulting in a greater demand for quality consumer products and daily necessities. With the largest number of furniture and home décor suppliers in the world, the Southeast Asian region stands out as an international role model in seeking strength amidst diversity and difference, as well as a prominent hub in the global economy and trade. Thailand’s central location and convenient visa procedures have made it a perfect meeting point, attracting global buyers, especially those from ASEAN, the Middle East, Europe and Russia. At the same time, this has contributed to ASEAN’s rapid economic growth and GDP, highlighting Thailand’s strength and development potential.

Held from July 17 to 20, 2024 at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), MEGA SHOW Bangkok brought together 823 high-quality exhibitors from the Asia-Pacific region with a total of 1020 booths. There was a remarkable change in product offerings in terms of quality improvement, customization and above all adaptation to different individual markets. To facilitate the encounter between exhibitors and visitors, MEGA SHOW Bangkok 2024 was divided into 6 simultaneous thematic exhibitions:

  • MEGA Gift & Home
  • MEGA Lighting
  • MEGA Electronics
  • MEGA Hardware & Gardening
  • MEGA Pet
  • MEGA Wellness & Healthcare,

all of which were welcomed with enthusiasm and support. In addition, the exhibition featured dedicated group pavilions for China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Thailand.

As a professional exhibition platform, the event was crucial for both Thai and ASEAN companies to enter the international market. In addition, the organizers organized a series of business exchange activities and in-depth thematic seminars during the exhibition, where prominent guests shared their insights and jointly analyzed and explored the latest development trends in the industry. Exhibitors, buyers and industry professionals who attended the seminars all expressed that they greatly benefited from them and believed that these activities added enormous value to the exhibition.

Sustainability & Quality

Looking to the future, many exhibitors have interfaced with the concept of environmental protection and sustainability, raising the quality of the products. During some on-site interviews, most of the exhibitors confirmed that there is a beneficial increase in demand for products that must embrace the principles of eco-solidarity and sustainability.

The renowned manufacturer of outdoor gazebos and umbrellas Sunrise Outdoor Ltd has developed new lines including the application of new materials that are both eco-friendly and more resistant and pleasant to the touch.

While TECHSTAR Limited has developed disposable cutlery that at impact seems to be plastic but is 100% biodegradable. Obtained from the accurate study of internal engineers, the new formula of components (which obviously does not include petroleum) has also managed to obtain the TÜV AUSTRIA Certification.

Meeting the market demand

The flexibility to adapt to different markets has been one of the most crucial strengths of the Southeast Asian market which in turn has enabled visitors from different parts of the world to meet their sourcing needs. The exhibitors on display were not only of high quality and value but also international style, fashionable and full of creative features.

The Taiwanese company Aking Traiding Co., Ltd. has different product ranges for individual markets; at the fair they exhibited a new collection of home furniture and accessories for our four-legged friends. A home that is suitable for cats and dogs and that is also beautiful to look at is now a reality. Pet furniture with an emphasis on comfort is reinvented for the needs of our pets and is a real design piece.

Given a strong interest and high demand for kitchen utensils, the Hong Kong-based company Kitchen Brights has focused on offering a quality product line for everyday kitchenware, proving how customer demands can become the new strengths of a successful sales strategy.

"We embrace all aspects of designs and functions to create a newly unique value in kitchenware. To be a leading supplier in kitchenware in APAC.

We commit to applying the following values internally and externally in our work. Our values articulate core beliefs that we stay and develop together with internal parties and external parties."

Innovation

As one of the most important parts of the world for development and industrialization, the ASEAN region invests a good part of innovation, research and technology. The exhibitors proposed not only the stylish products but also practical for everyday use and/or represent novelties never seen before.

For example, Powerflux-X, the South Korean sports health and beauty brand, unveiled one of its new products: the Dual all-in-one dry cleansing pad, produced from the substances extracted from plants. Since it does not contain any chemicals, it presents itself as the product harmless to both humans and the planet.

Overall, the vast majority of exhibiting companies were satisfied with the four-day exhibition results, having received many on-site inquiries and identified many new buyer resources. Meanwhile, the attending buyers also gave positive reviews to the exhibition, particularly appreciating that it allowed them to quickly find their target products, and they were very satisfied with the product quality, trendy designs, innovative trends, and competitive advantages.

Based on the successful outcomes of this edition, as well as the affirmation and constructive suggestions from exhibiting companies, attending buyers, cooperative associations, industry organizations, and participating media, the 2025 MEGA SHOW Bangkok will further expand in scale and product categories, and inject more new elements and unique features.
