Atelier of Henge in via della Spiga 7

September 27, 2018

Henge presents a selection of furniture and accessories in the prestigious Atelier of via della Spiga 7, Milan’s heart of design.

The evolution of the identity of the brand, headed by Creative Director Massimo Castagna, is oriented towards the research of materials and uniqueness of creations, recoiling from the mere function of furniture, transforming into the manifesto of a cognitive and experimental path dedicated to craftsmanship. Through its completely customizable and often modular products, Henge pushes the boundaries of design, intentionally straying from limitations imposed by serial industrial productions.

The catalogue becomes the starting point for endless compositional harmonies, whose codes communicate with rare techniques and materials, precious finishing, uncommon dimensions and combinations. The skilful hands of Henge’s master craftsmen, combined with continuous research has allowed the brand to bring disused processes back to life - such as Forest Fusion wood micro-mosaics, special new original materials, as the exclusively extracted Black Lake stone or a particular ivory color textured stone from Ostuni. Among the new finishes: titanium, platinum, black copper, Patina – in burnished polished 999 silver– and Silver Sandcasting.

At the entrance, Scultoreo dining table with super silver 180 cm glass top and titanium base welcomes visitors next to the geometric shapes of the black hand burnished steel Tangram bookcase and black burnished brass structure.

The bar area displays the new Nubuck 28 leather Lailand sofa, featuring leather backrest and pillows offered in the new fabrics and the titanium Twistable coffee tables with bronze base, and the Ozone L; the black copper bar with backlit white crystal quartz.

Right behind the bar, the Cage Winery, a new black burnished iron version of the Cage B, is presented with swamp oak shelves and polished copper finish with compartments designed to contain wine bottles. H Silver Wall Clips lamps illuminate the space.

The living space features the new sense 18 leather Opus sofa with pillows in the new fabrics paired with the new platinum and Ostuni’s textured stone Primitive new coffee tables, Twistable console with titanium top and bronze base, and two fabric and leather poufs Jelly. On the side, the Bistrot S bookcase in the new platinum finish, the Madia Side X Evo High in the new Patina finish and cappuccino stone top and the bookshelf/TV Loom Program in the new Patina finish, dark burnished brass containers and black burnished iron frame. The new Starlight lamps illuminate the space with a lighting architecture presented as a horizontal composition comprising of two “Y” shaped arms with black burnished brass or bronze sandcasting finish.

At the center of the dining area is the Saetta table with Black Lake stone rectangular top and bronze sandcasted legs. The new grey walnut Savannah chairs with leather seats, designed by Irish architect Stephen Tierney and the leather upholstered Extra chairs surround the table, which is surmounted by the dramatic Starlight lamp featuring “Y” shaped arms. The new pieces presented by Henge include Loom FR, the freestanding evolution of the successful wall version: wide full-height opening, hand-burnished brass with smoked glass door, available in three versions with shelving, drawer or flap. Suspended dark burnished brass cylindrical Oops spotlights complete the setting.

For the occasions, Henge also presents the exclusive preview of an art de la table collection created by jewelry designer Ugo Cacciatori for the brand. Among the pieces decorating the table, a set of silver flatware with stone handles and brass finish; plates with metal surface, porcelain interior and brass edge; interlocking stone underplates; prism shaped resin bowls with metallic inner walls; antique glass glasses with resin stem; pitcher and decanter with metal and glass details.
